Caswell Beach is a well known protected sea turtle nesting area. During the Caswell Beach Turtle Watch from May until August the sea turtle nests are monitored by local volunteers. The purpose of this monitoring is to protect the threatened and endangered sea turtles that lay their eggs on Caswell Beach. These loggerhead turtles are the most common sea turtle species to visit the local beach.
If you’re looking for a beach offering solitude and private time, Caswell Beach is the place to come. It is the least populated beach of all the Brunswick County beaches. There’s only one commercial establishment in the area and it’s the Oak Island Golf Country Club. For the golfers among you, this could possibly mean heaven! But even the non-golfers are sure to appreciate the lack of traffic and tourists that travel in large numbers wherever commercialism can be found. When you’re ready to hit the shops and restaurants, entertainment or local happenings, it’s just a mile to Oak Island and all that area has to offer.
For those planning a visit to the area, if you need Caswell Beach vacation rentals, you’ll find many listed right here on our website.
